2. What This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy describes how Nimble Dragon Media, Inc. / DBA Nimble Dragon Studios collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Baybayin Studio iOS application (the "App") and when you visit our website at nimbledragonstudios.com (the "Site"). It also describes your rights regarding your information and how to contact us with questions or requests.
This policy does not apply to third-party services, websites, or applications that you may access through links on our Site or through the App. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide Directly
The App is designed to work primarily without requiring you to create an account or provide personal information. The following user-provided content is processed locally on your device:
- Names and text you enter into the Name Translator feature
- Text and artwork you create in the Art Studio
- Serial numbers you enter to validate a book purchase
Text entered into the Name Translator and Art Studio is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers.
3.2 Serial Number Validation
If you choose to unlock Premium features using a serial number included with a physical book purchase, the App sends that serial number to our server at nimbledragonstudios.com to validate it against our license database. We record:
- The serial number entered
- The date and time of the validation request
- The number of times the serial has been activated
We do not collect your device identifier, name, email address, or any other personal information as part of this validation. The serial number is stored locally in your device's secure Keychain after successful validation and is not re-transmitted on subsequent app launches.
3.3 In-App Purchases
If you purchase Premium features through Apple's In-App Purchase system, all payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive, store, or process your payment card information, billing address, or any other financial details. Apple provides us only with a confirmation that a valid purchase was made. Apple's privacy policy governs their handling of your payment information and can be found at apple.com/legal/privacy.
3.4 iCloud Storage
The App uses Apple iCloud to store custom background images you import into the Template Gallery across your devices. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account under your Apple ID. We do not have access to content stored in your iCloud account. Apple's iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
3.5 Crash Reports and Diagnostics
If you have opted into Apple's device analytics sharing, Apple may automatically collect crash logs and diagnostic information when the App encounters an error. This data is shared with us through Apple's developer tools in an anonymized, aggregated form. We use this information solely to identify and fix bugs. We do not use crash data to identify individual users.
3.6 Website Visitors
When you visit nimbledragonstudios.com, standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used solely for website administration and security purposes and is not used to identify individual visitors. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics services on our website.

5.1 Service Providers
We may share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating our website, server infrastructure, or license validation system. These providers are contractually required to keep your information confidential and to use it only for the purpose of providing services to us.
5.2 Apple
The App operates within Apple's iOS ecosystem. Apple processes In-App Purchase transactions, manages iCloud storage, and may collect crash diagnostics if you have enabled device analytics sharing. These interactions are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
5.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, court order, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
5.4 Business Transfer
In the event that Nimble Dragon Media, Inc. / DBA Nimble Dragon Studios is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or reorganization, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via a prominent notice on our website or within the App before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
6. Data Storage and Security
The vast majority of data created through your use of the App is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to our servers. This includes:
- All flashcard progress and spaced repetition review history
- All handwriting practice completion records
- All Art Studio documents and layers
- All text entered into the Name Translator
- Your Premium unlock status (stored in your device's secure Keychain)
For data that does reach our servers (serial number validation requests and support communications), we implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. Our servers are protected by industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we take the security of your information seriously, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain the limited data we collect for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy:
- Serial number validation records are retained for as long as the license is active and for a reasonable period after to support customer service requests
- Support correspondence is retained for up to three years to maintain a record of communications
- Web server access logs are retained for up to 90 days for security purposes
Data stored locally on your device (progress, artwork, settings) is retained until you delete the App or clear the App's data through your device settings. Deleting the App removes all locally stored App data from your device.
8. Children's Privacy
Baybayin Studio is rated 4+ on the Apple App Store and is suitable for all ages. However, the App is not specifically directed at children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Because the App is designed to operate with minimal data collection — and stores learning data locally on device rather than in accounts — children can use the App without providing personal information. The only interaction that could involve personal data is serial number validation, which would typically be performed by a parent or guardian.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at support@nimbledragonstudios.com and we will promptly delete such information from our records.
9. Your Rights and Choices
9.1 Access and Correction
You have the right to request access to any personal information we hold about you and to request correction of any inaccurate information. To make such a request, please contact us at support@nimbledragonstudios.com.
9.2 Deletion
You may request that we delete any personal information we hold about you. Because we collect minimal personal data, deletion requests can generally be fulfilled promptly. Please note that:
- Data stored locally on your device can be deleted by uninstalling the App
- iCloud data can be deleted through your device's iCloud settings

9.3 Opt-Out of Crash Reporting
Crash diagnostic data is collected by Apple only if you have opted into device analytics sharing. To opt out, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements on your iOS device and disable the relevant options.
9.4 California Residents — CCPA
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. 9.5 European Residents — GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or equivalent laws, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Our lawful basis for processing is legitimate interests (operating and improving the App) and, where applicable, performance of a contract.
